This website is a forum for discussing how (and even whether) nations ‘compete’ with each other on things like tax, financial regulation, secrecy and transparency, corporate governance, wages policy, and so on.
There are many fallacies, myths, misunderstandings and much woolly thinking out there, and a core purpose of this site is to unpack and expose the weaknesses of the dominant ‘competitiveness’ agendas that seem to be preventing nation states from implementing policies such as fair taxation, appropriate financial regulation, or effective policies to combat financial crime. Read the basics here.
Few people question the ‘competitiveness’ agenda, and those who do aren’t really getting heard. So the aim of this website is to help build up a coherent response and to build constructive alternatives.
